Recent revelations from Wellhub’s State of Work-Life Wellness Report indicate that work-related stress reigns as the foremost threat to employee mental health, eclipsing concerns about inflation, information overload, and anxiety linked to AI developments. A survey involving 5,000 global employees from May to June 2024 revealed some critical insights into workplace wellness. Notably, 47% of participants pinpointed work stress as the leading factor in their mental health decline, while a whopping 83% expressed willingness to leave their jobs due to insufficient well-being support. As the generations grapple with work stress, Gen Z stands out with 54% reporting it as a significant issue, higher than Millennials at 49% and Gen X at 48%. Baby Boomers primarily cited inflation as their main concern (42%). Interestingly, Gen Z employees are more inclined to seek therapy and mindfulness practices, contrasting with Baby Boomers who engage less with these supportive measures.
