Empowering Black Families: The Metro Detroit Community Wellness Expo

In a resounding effort to uplift the Black community, the Metro Detroit Chapters of The Links, Incorporated are joining forces for the Black Family Wellness Expo. Scheduled for March 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northwest Activities Center in Detroit, this event promises to tackle health and economic disparities by offering vital resources and life-enhancing health screenings.

As a part of The Links, Incorporated’s national movement, this expo not only aspires to improve health outcomes for Black families but also sheds light on pressing medical and societal challenges facing the community. Chapters nationwide will resonate with a unified purpose during this event, reaffirming the urgency of addressing health disparities that disproportionately impact Black individuals.

Attendees can immerse themselves in a variety of engaging topics, including breast cancer awareness, men’s health, kidney screenings, mental health, and financial planning. The agenda also features vibrant activities like art therapy, hustle dancing, and community vendors providing free tax services, ensuring a comprehensive approach to wellness.

The first 50 families attending will receive a $25 gift card, while the first 100 guests are treated to a nutritious lunch.
