Additional features comprise a 760-seat refurbished Playhouse Theatre, a 341-seat Black Box Drama Theatre, and a 116-seat Studio Cinema, complemented by a riverside bar and café.
The design team highlighted a harmonious arrangement of four volumes that incorporates the retained Playhouse Theatre. The building’s exterior, clad in glass-reinforced concrete rainscreens, aims to unify these spaces while reflecting the dappled light found beneath tree canopies. An undulating soffit on the ground floor creates a welcoming feel, enhancing the human experience.
