The Mountaineers embarked on a journey of 920 miles to the state title match, returning home with their championship crown and a total of 1,072 miles logged.
After previous playoff disappointments, the resilient Mountaineers were eager to prove themselves. Despite being a younger team without seniors, they stepped onto the court with determination and skill. “We always knew this was a part of God’s plan,” reflected junior Mercy Sechler, highlighting their faith and hard work.
Playing in her 12th PIAA game, Sechler led a young roster filled with experience. Key players like Coral Prosser, Elena Ritchey, Lexi Foor, and Bryn Prosser joined forces with freshman Sam Walker, forming a team that has now participated in 47 PIAA playoff games across various sports. Since the 2021-22 season, their record stands at 93-19 with an impressive 28-2 this season.
