ÖBB to Discontinue Berlin-Brussels Night Train Services from March 28

The Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) has announced it will cease its night train service between Berlin and Brussels starting from March 28. The decision marks the end of three weekly trips that currently run from Berlin Ostbahnhof to Brussels on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights, with return journeys occurring on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

For those still seeking a convenient and eco-friendly way to travel between the two cities, hope is not lost. The Dutch rail company European Sleeper continues to operate night trains on this route.

Travellers can catch the European Sleeper service departing from Berlin Hauptbahnhof at 10:56 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Return journeys leave Brussels-Midi / Zuid at 7:22 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with stops at Antwerp, Amsterdam, Dresden, and Prague along the way.

ÖBB is set to discontinue its night train service from Berlin to Brussels on March 28. Previously operating three weekly trains, travelers can still use the European Sleeper service, which runs night trains between the two cities, ensuring continued transportation options.

In summary, ÖBB’s Berlin-Brussels night train services will end on March 28, impacting those who frequently benefit from this route. Fortunately, European Sleeper remains a viable alternative, offering similar night train services. This allows passengers to continue enjoying efficient travel options between the two capitals, ensuring connectivity in a convenient and sustainable manner.
