CAPC centres on four main areas: malware analysis, cyber risk assessment, cloud telemetry analytics, and addressing research gaps.
In addition to CAPC, S&T pursues two significant projects: Fleet Vehicle Cybersecurity Research and Cybersecurity Training for Law Enforcement. The former focuses on identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the systems employed by the U.S. Secret Service’s fleet, aiming to enhance both vehicle and operator safety through sophisticated defence mechanisms.
Conversely, the Cybersecurity Training initiative engages law enforcement with research into IoT devices, targeting the implications these technologies have on criminal investigations. As attempts to exploit IoT devices increase, training programs will soon teach law enforcement best practices for tackling cybercrimes, ensuring they are equipped to handle these modern challenges.
