On Sunday, Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, AKAMATSU Shuichi, unveiled the Sogetsu Ikebana Spring Exhibition in Lahore, celebrating the cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan through floral artistry. Organised by the Sogetsu Lahore Study Group, the exhibition features stunning Ikebana arrangements inspired by ancient Pakistani civilisations, including Gandhara, Taxila, and Mehrgarh, presenting their rich heritage through intricate floral designs. Each piece not only showcases the artists’ remarkable talent but also weaves narratives of historical significance, connecting past and present.
During the opening ceremony, Ambassador AKAMATSU expressed his appreciation for the evocative theme of the exhibition and the profound cultural significance of the civilisations represented.
