The STEPR™ Health & Safety Giveaway is an initiative by STEPR™ and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) aimed at enhancing fitness amongst volunteer firefighters, EMS personnel, and rescue workers. Recognising the physical demands of their jobs, this giveaway will award three eligible fire departments with the innovative STEPR PRO+ stair climbers in 2025, providing them with essential resources that promote health and wellness.
To qualify for this generous giveaway, departments must be predominantly staffed by volunteers, legally organised in the U.S., and have a member apply on their behalf. Applicants will need to demonstrate an equipment need, detail its intended use, and confirm storage capabilities for the stair climber. Additionally, those who are not current NVFC members can easily join to participate.
The STEPR PRO+ stair climbers deliver a comprehensive, low-impact cardio workout tailored for the unique demands of first responders. Engineered for functional fitness, these climbers enhance endurance, leg strength, and cardiovascular health—key factors in maintaining peak performance during emergencies. They do not require a subscription and are built to withstand rigorous use in firehouses.
Departments interested in applying must do so by March 9. Winners will be announced monthly in April, May, and June. With this initiative, STEPR™ aims to empower first responders to uphold their vital role in serving communities and ensure they are physically ready for the challenges they face.
