The Tai Kwun venue is currently hosting the immersive exhibition “FLASH! Palace Museum – A Pop-Up Digital Experience,” which artfully bridges tradition and modernity. This innovative showcase illuminates the vibrant cultural heritage of Beijing’s former Forbidden City using cutting-edge digital technology. Supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club and organized in conjunction with the Palace Museum, this exhibition runs until January 31, enticing visitors to explore the treasures of Chinese culture.

Among the exhibition’s jewels is the segment titled “Four Seasons at the Palace Museum,” where stunning digital imagery brings the Gate of Imperial Supremacy to life across the seasons. Attendees can also step into the realm of virtual reality through “Impression of the Corner Tower,” recreating the unique architectural marvels of the Forbidden City’s corners, enhancing their appreciation for its grandeur.

A significant partnership was cemented in May 2024 when the IoP and the Hong Kong Jockey Club collaborated with the Palace Museum to foster the promotion of Chinese culture and the arts. With an impressive donation of approximately HK$440 million, the initiative aims to develop talent within arts technology and support cultural values, while also planning the transformation of the historic Chengqiangong court building into a cultural exchange hub.

The exhibition is one of the Club’s initiatives that exemplifies its charitable endeavors, underpinned by its unique business model that channels revenue from racing and wagering into tax contributions, charity funding, and job creation for the local community. This approach illustrates the enduring commitment to cultural enrichment and community support, ensuring that traditional arts resonate in the modern world.
